The Criterion Theatre is 50!

We would like to say a big thank you to all of you who have contributed to our 50th Anniversary year so far. It will be officially the end of a busy year on the February 27th, however fund raising will continue until we have reached our target of £25,000. We are on target with most of the pledges and donations bringing in a staggering amount of about £8,000 so far and more promised, we have also sold a number of seats and our funding raising is now touching £12,000. A big thank you must go to Chris Ingall for her efforts to keep us on track.

Promises Auction

Our next big fundraising push will be the Promises Auction from 7.30pm on Saturday 28th April.

Do you work for an organisation that can offer a Promise? You can submit details of a Promise via our on-line form.

If you want to talk to anyone regarding Promises just approach Linda Holmes, Keith Railton or Sara Farmanfarmai who will gladly try to help or you can fill in a Promise form and pop it in the box.

We have already had some exciting promises donated including:

  • A weekend in the Isle of Wight
  • Handmade silver jewellery
  • Dinner for 2 at Da Vinci's
  • A full body massage
  • English tuition
  • An original artwork
  • Handyman services

Do not miss out on this great night!

Buy a Seat

One of the two main fundraisers for the appeal will be the selling of the seats, which when all 120 seats are sold, will raise £12,000 in total. For those who have already bought seats thank you, if you are intending to buy a seat but just not got around to it yet, then we need to tell you that sales of the seats are going steadily and we recommend you act soon.

If you want to reserve your seat and pay later that is not a problem just let Chris Ingall know, all reserved seats will need to be paid for by June. Forms for the purchase or reservation of seats will be on the web site and are in the bar by the 50th Birthday Board, or you could contact Chris directly. We will be buying the new seats for the auditorium over the summer during our dark period so all fund raising for the seats need to be completed by then.
