The Government announced on Monday that there will be a delay of four weeks to the lifting of all Covid restrictions on social contact. We had realistically expected this to be the case, and the Board of Directors had taken the decision earlier in the year to act prudently and cautiously with regards to our own opening.
Therefore, our plans to reopen with a week’s run of our live production of ‘3Women’ on Saturday 26th June remain unaffected by the announcement, as we had always planned to have a number of important Covid measures still in place, meaning that we exceed regulations. So please do buy your tickets now for a fabulous night’s entertainment.
It will be a slightly different experience than normal, so what can you expect when you come to the Criterion for ‘3Women’?
- The audience will be considerably smaller. In order to ensure that adequate 1 metre plus social distancing is in place, the auditorium is only at 47% capacity (57 seats).
- We will be having a digital ticket-only box office. Tickets must be booked online, and there will be no physical box office open. However, if buying tickets online is difficult for you, then just give us a call on 024 7667 4719, leave us a message on our answerphone and we will call you back and sort everything out.
- Audience will wait in the car park before entering the theatre. Front of House will check you off their ticket list and then you can walk straight through to the auditorium (perhaps collecting your pre-ordered drink on the way).
- We will be using the bar app to order drinks and ice cream. You will be able to order drinks by using our bar app which works on any device which allows you internet access. You do not need to download anything. By following the link https://www.criteriontheatre.co.uk/bar you can order, pay for and track the delivery progress of your drinks. Simply order and pay for your drinks, and they will then be delivered to a collection point. The app will tell you that your drinks have been delivered.
- You can take your drinks into the auditorium or sit outside at our ‘pop-up carpark’ bar area. Our bar area inside is just too small to have table seating, but you can take pre-show drinks into the auditorium and we warmly invite you to come a share a drink with cast, crew and audience after the show outside in the car park area.
- People will still sometimes be wearing masks. Front of house staff will be wearing masks, and everyone should wear a mask when they are not seated.
Our front of house volunteers will be there to give you a warm and friendly welcome and will be happy to help you out with any issues.
We are really excited about welcoming you back for live theatre and encourage you to purchase tickets as soon as possible by going to https://www.criteriontheatre.co.uk/tickets We need your support more than ever!
