Coventry Writers' Group is once again taking part in the Literally Coventry Book Festival which runs from June 23rd to 28th this year. Helping to inspire a love of literature, the group will be reading and performing some of their stories, plays and poetry at the Criterion Theatre in Earlsdon on Tuesday 24th June starting at 7.30pm.

This free event is open to all. There will be a bar available, free nibbles, a book stall, a spot prize quiz and some excellent readings by local writers, poets and playwrights.

The evening promises all kinds of entertainment both fact and fiction based on and around our city. You will learn about Elvis's secret visit to Coventry; hear some spine tingling tales – and some comical ones, and even discover the unbelievable origins of the Coventry Writers Group stemming way back to the days of Godiva and Leofric.

The Coventry Writers’ Group currently meets at 8pm on the first Tuesday of every month at Broomfield Tavern, Broomfield Place, Spon End, Coventry CV5 6GY. They are always pleased to welcome new members whether established writers or complete beginners.
